  • Harvest - end of September

    Harvest will be celebrated on the last weekend of September. This year we will collect non-perishable food items for the Booth Centre at Manchester Cathedral. We will also be collecting money for our Harvest Appeal which will be spilt between the Booth Centre and a borehole project at Rukungiri Modern Primary School, Uganda.

    Harvest Supper and Quiz - Saturday 25th September

    Come and enjoy a meat and potato pie supper (vegetarian option available) and see whether you can answer the challenging quiz questions set by the clergy!

    St James Church; 7.00pm

    Tickets £5.00 (adults); £2.50 (children). All proceeds to Parish Harvest Appeal.

    If you would be willing to bring a dessert, please let Jo Farnworth know in advance.

     

  • Heritage Open Days - 10th - 12th September

    St Peter’s, Manchester Road
    St Peters is open Friday and Saturday 10.00am till 4.00pm and Sunday 12.00 till 2.00. They are also part of ’ Stride and Ride’.
    Tame Valley Brass will be playing on the Saturday 11.30 til 1.00.
    Light Refreshments will be available on all days.
    They are hoping to have a display of old photographs that they have found, it would be nice if local ‘visitors’ could give them some names for the faces!!!

    St James, Union Street:
    St James is open from 10am to 1pm on Saturday and refreshments (including ice creams!) will be available. There will also be some stalls, eg. book stall.

    Holy Trinity, Dean Street:
    Holy Trinity will be open from 10 - 4pm on the 11th September. We are taking part in the stride and ride. Some of our congregation will be walking around other churches and some will be sitters in HT. We will be asking for sponsors for this event for both walkers and sitters. There will be refreshments available

    St Michael’s, Church Street:
    St Michael’s Church will be open on Saturday between 10-00am and 4-00pm with guided tours at 10-30am, 1-00 and 2-30pm. There will also be a short organ recital at 12-15pm. On Sunday the 12th September the church will be open between 1-00pm and 4-00pm with a guided tour at 2-00pm.
